“I am the good shepherd. I know My own sheep, and they know Me, as the Father knows Me, and I know the Father. I lay down My life for the sheep” (John 10:14-15).

Jesus is the Good Shepherd. By calling Himself a shepherd and claiming you as one of His sheep, He has bound Himself to protect, guide, and feed you. The One who rules over every nation and stands supreme above the galaxies has vowed to know you as a shepherd knows his flock.

Maybe more astoundingly, Christ desires to know you in the same way He knows the Father. This means you are made to hear His voice, follow His instruction, and be nourished by His words. See the intimacy with which you were designed to know the Lord?

Jesus stopped at nothing to rescue you, laying down His life as a great demonstration of His love. He will continue to protect you, leading you in paths of righteousness and feeding you by His Word and Spirit.

As a sheep depends on his shepherd, you are created to deeply depend on Jesus. When you hear His voice, don’t be afraid to follow, for He is a good and loving leader you can trust. Be comforted. He will not lead you astray.

Today, rest and know the Good Shepherd has claimed you as one of His own. Listen to His voice and respond. Let Him guide your path.
