The ultimate goal of every Christian’s life is summarized in what is famously known as the Great Commission: “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. Go, therefore, and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe everything I have commanded you. And remember, I am with you always, to the end of the age” (Matt. 28:18-20).

What a delight to know that Jesus has appointed us to make disciples of every nation. There is never a moment in which this fails to be applicable. You can make disciples at work or school, in your hometown or abroad, in any language and every cultural setting. Jesus sets you up for success and purpose wherever you go.

More than commissioning you, He has empowered you with His Spirit. “I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” He doesn’t expect you to accomplish this task on your own. Instead, He gives you His own power to proclaim the gospel with authority, to resist the enemy with confidence, and to endure the race with joy.

He is present with every step you take and every word you speak. Even as you read this, He is with you.

Today, focus on the task for which you have been appointed. Proclaim the gospel and make disciples confidently. Jesus is with you.
