“And when you were dead in trespasses and in the uncircumcision of your flesh, He made you alive with Him and forgave us all our trespasses. He erased the certificate of debt, with its obligations, that was against us and opposed to us, and has taken it out of the way by nailing it to the cross” (Col. 2:13-14).

When you were helpless and lost and dead in your sin, Jesus made you alive in Him. He took the punishment you deserved, and gave you the gifts of righteousness and eternal life in its place. This is the good news: Your debt has been paid and all your sins have been forgiven.

Everything from the mistakes of your past to your current struggles to your future failures is satisfied in full on the cross. He erased your debt and all its obligations. He has taken it away by nailing it to the cross.

What will you do with this good news? Spend the rest of your life attempting to earn a salvation that’s already been paid for, or receive the gift of salvation and run the race set before you with joy and confidence? Don’t live as a condemned person anymore. You are innocent and free.

Today, trust in Jesus for your salvation and acceptance before the Father. Don’t waste another moment trying to earn righteousness. It’s a gift. Receive it.
