“… taking every thought captive to obey Christ” (2 Cor. 10:5)

Some of the greatest struggles you’ll face are not in your physical reality; they’re in your mind. The battle lies in what you believe about God, about yourself, about other people, and about the world around you.

The enemy of your soul will stop at nothing as he attempts to sow his lies and deceit into your thoughts. Why? Your thoughts determine what you believe and, therefore, dictate how you live your life.

For instance, if you believe that God is stoic and uncaring, you’ll ultimately live a life separated from God because you’re convinced He’s indifferent toward you. You assume your actions are of little consequence.

Satan’s ultimate goal is to break your trust in God so that you turn away from Him. In the course of your life, you’ll encounter situations and circumstances that will test your faith, during which the enemy will look for even the smallest open door to sow a seed of doubt.

It’s in these times, these moments of difficulty, that you need to hold fast to the Word of God, which is perfect truth. A person who is steadfast in the truth can walk in the freedom of Christ. You’ll still encounter trials, but having that firm foundation is the difference that determines whether you walk in victory or defeat.

Today, gird yourself with the truth of the Word of God, and know that all of heaven is standing behind you.
