“For as high as the heavens are above the earth, so great is His faithful love toward those who fear Him. As far as the east is from the west, so far has He removed our transgressions from us” (Ps. 103:11-12).

The sun is approximately 93 million miles away from earth. If you started driving now, it would take more than 170 years to reach it. If you owned a space shuttle, it would still take seven months to journey there.

All this traveling would take place in the Milky Way galaxy, home to the moon and planets and all the stars your eyes can see. The Milky Way is one of an estimated 200 billion galaxies that exist in the discovered universe.

While measurably distant from earth, these places are unreachable by humans. How great is our God!

Billions of light-years beyond the furthest galaxy is how far your sin has been removed from you. The Lord, who loves you with a power stronger than the sun, has taken it away. The blood of Jesus disbanded your sin, and now the Father calls you worthy.

Do you see the greatness and finality with which Christ paid for your sin? He did not place it in the other room, but removed it from the universe you dwell in.

Today, praise Jesus for taking away your transgressions. Rest, and know He cares for you with a love higher than the heavens. You can’t exaggerate this affection, and you can’t exaggerate the glory He deserves because of it.
