It is easy to get caught up in the cosmically confusing question, “What is God’s will for my life?” This can cause paralysis, though, because the Bible doesn’t tell you where to go to school, or who to marry, or what city you should live in.

In times of transition and questioning, it’s helpful to remind yourself what the already-revealed will of God is. This will give you a framework for the rest of your life, helping you determine where to go and how to act, wherever you are.

“Mankind, He has told you what is good and what it is the Lord requires of you: to act justly, to love faithfulness, and to walk humbly with your God” (Mic. 6:8).

This is the revealed will of God for your life: to act justly, love faithfulness, and walk humbly with Him. Humility is the key to this command: If you consider others better than yourself (Phil. 2:3), then justice and faithfulness follow.

Justice, because you will desire to see your brothers and sisters treated with respect. Faithfulness, because humility breeds love — when you think of yourself less, your heart and mind will have more room for others.

Today, pray that God will give you a craving for justice, faithfulness, and humility. Ask Him to reveal areas in which you can carry out these qualities throughout your everyday life.
