“Your eyes saw me when I was formless; all my days were written in Your book and planned before a single one of them began” (Ps. 139:16).

Before you existed on this earth, God knew what you would look like, your frame, the sound of your voice, your personality, and every quirk that makes you you. Down to the smallest detail, He knew you.

The age-old question, “Why am I here?” can be summed up in one simple answer: because He wanted you. Whatever circumstances brought you into this world — no matter how chaotic or broken — aren’t the reason you exist.

You’re not a mistake. You’re alive right now because God Himself designed every part of your being and put a beating heart inside of your chest on purpose. Despite every circumstance that may speak otherwise, you are wanted.

Your success lies simply in the fact that you’re unconditionally loved and wanted by the same God who knows every star in the heavens by name. He looked across the expanse of time, stopped at you, and saw someone irreplaceable. He saw your fears, your failures, your weakness, and every mistake you would make — and He called you His child.

He made you, being fully aware of your wandering tendencies. He doesn’t simply entertain you or put up with you; you are the very dream of His heart made into reality.

Today, if and when you question your confidence, your worth, the value of your life, or your purpose, think on Psalm 139:16.
