“Listen! I am telling you a mystery: We will not all fall asleep, but we will all be changed, in a moment, in the blink of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised incorruptible, and we will be changed” (1 Cor. 15:51-52).

When the Lord returns, trumpets will blare across the skies and the dead will be raised incorruptible. By defeating death and sin forever, Jesus not only won your soul but your body.

This is important because it means you will resurrect, just as Jesus resurrected, and you will be imperishable. You will be changed, free from arthritis and cancer and back problems and disease. Every atom of your being will align with the will of God, glorifying Him wholly and perfectly. What a wonderful future!

The skin and bones you inhabit matter. Your body matters. This physical earth matters. Why? Because you will be raised, and the world will be renewed. See the love of God in it all! He doesn’t view this world as something to be thrown away but something to be restored. He doesn’t see your body as something to be scrapped, but something to be renewed.

Today, look to the future with great joy! He will return and you will be made new!

“For if we have been joined with Him in the likeness of His death, we will certainly also be in the likeness of His resurrection” (Rom. 6:5).
